End of Summer Bounty

It was a pretty small harvest but I still enjoyed the act of picking my own veggies.  This season left me with a lot of why and aw hell moments.  First, there was the Great Squirrel Attack of 2011. Then, the garden was infiltrated by these unusual looking insects.

Something was gnawing on my jalepeno plant  and my strawberries  went dead/dormant.  Almost every single tomato had yellowish speckles on the skin and my carrots failed to launch. Miss Berry is growing but she is growing sideways. Huh?

But there is good news. My neighborhood has a community garden and I am super excited about getting myself a small garden there.  I chatted with a couple of friendly ladies and I could tell they are pretty knowledgeable in the subject of gardening.

So I am comforted in the fact that this gardening thing is a work in progress and it will get better as I gain more experience.  In the meantime, I will treasure my small bounty like a tasty treat.
