FRANKENSTEIN CUCUMBER

In an earlier post on cucumbers, I explained that I planted two ‘bush’ varieties. The cucumber plant pictured below was labeled a Bush Pickle. I remember pausing for a second when I read the ‘pickle’ label but I dismissed it away.  I suppose I assumed that the cucumbers would just be a bit smaller than the ones I had grown previously. Boy was I wrong.

At first glance, I thought these cucumbers were diseased.  I was pruning and cleaning up the garden today and I notice these tiny, prickly cucumbers on the vine.  I even cut a few of them off because, as I said, I thought they were diseased.  Who knew the bush pickle cucumbers actually look like little pickles??

What say you?
