What can I say? I love blackberries. They are one of my favorite fruits along with mangoes and honeydew melon. A bush full of sweet, succulent blackberries is like nature-made candy. At the beginning of this season, I decided on two things; to grow a blackberry bush in a container and to name my plant “Miss Berry”. The name amuses me and it is apropos.
Planting Your Blackberry Bush
- Chose the thorn less “bush” variety – Arapaho
- Used a 40 gallon plastic container
- Drilled 10 holes in the bottom of the plastic container
- Covered the bottom of container with river rock
- Filled container with moisture control potting soil

What say you?
